Customer Review: So much fun!! Summary: 5 StarsThis is a great game!! The whole family got involved in playing it!!!
Customer Review: LOVE IT! Summary: 5 StarsI got this game for my 8 year old daughter, and Guitar Hero 2 for my 20 year old son. They love it!! They can dual each other on either game. I like this one because it has more traditional rock songs. 2 has more heavy metal. It's a really fun game, and I have played it too!! Anyone any age will have fun!
Customer Review: Mildly Hard, Exoticly Fun Summary: 5 StarsGuitar Hero Review
*****
This game is a thrilling look at the life of a cover-playing garage band. Especially the guitarist. Although it contains some errors, it is still a five star game worthy of most praise. The only game I have that I like more is Age of Empires II: The Conquerors Expansion and its predecessor Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings.
As a guitarist myself, I feel this game was very well done. Although when on the levels of medium, hard and expert you have to stretch your fingers REALLY far to get to orange, and mildly far for blue, it still is quite easy on the first songs, and while the challenges of songs like "Fat Lip" and "Cochise" can be quite annoying, I eventually get through it.
This game comes with an add-on controller that looks like a mini Gibson SG. There are five "fret buttons" along the neck, one green, one red, one yellow, one blue and one orange. There is also a strum key which you may strum up or down (it doesn't matter unlike real guitar playing). The other parts of the anatomy of the controller are a whammy bar which you may position to your liking and to use may push it forward, and two knobs the resemble Tone & Volume but actually are Start & Select.
There is a line that will go out in front of you after the crowd has found out what the song you're playing is (ex: "More Than a Feeling" As Made Famous By Boston) and on the sides will appear a meter with the word "rock" on it, another meter on the side that says "points" and above the "rock meter" will be a blank sphere-like object with a line halfway through it. Small white circles in the numerical positions like the fret button will appear and roll towards you. They will have their fret buttons color and in the center a large white dot. To play press the fret button and at the same time strum the strum button. When a note with a tail appears and its next on the line strum as usual but keep the fret button down till the end of the note. When two notes of the same kind appear keep the fret button down and strum accordingly. When a note with two different notes at the same time appears this is called a chord. Cover both buttons. This will be used a lot in medium, hard and expert so when in easy make sure you get used to them even though there aren't many.
MODES AND DESCRIPTION
Easy--Uses only frets green, red and yellow, not many chords.
Medium--Uses only frets green, red, yellow and blue, lots of power chords and fast playing.
Hard--Uses all fret keys, lots of power chords and really fast playing.
Expert--I haven't beaten a song on this. Don't try until done with hard completely.
