Video Game Reviews of Shin Megami Tensei: NocturneCustomer Review: Persona is pale in comparison Summary: 5 StarsIve played this game more than any other game ever and ive played alot of video games since they came out. Even people from japan will say that this games hard but with proper leveling up, fusion of demons and fusing mitamas you should be good. I spent alot of time just fusing different demons to see what skills and other demons i could get. I like the challenge. I beat the game without using any tips or using the book but the second time i beat it i wanted to find all the bosses, get Dante on my side and complete the labrynth of amala so i could check out the chaos ending! A special surprise waited for me wich became just the best moment in my video game history. This game isnt as hard as the digital devil games. Ive found in D.d. you have to learn/use all the little spells like poison/stun in order to exploit enemy weakness to win a battle. Dont get me wrong some are cool but i want to dominate demons with powerful physical skills and spells and i totally love kicking their butts in nocturne! This game is a true sequel to the original shin megami tensei games. In japan its title "shin megami tensei 3". To me this game is so obviously the heart of all that is good in the smt world. The music is awesome! Personas music stinks. Digital devils music is pretty good. Ther is no doubt that the most time was spent in making this game a mega smash! One of the big reasons i dont like persona and so many other rpg's is they are too "kiddie-ish". Ther is nothing "kiddie" about Nocturne. From the demons to the gameplay (most people havent mastered the controls for optimum enjoyment)the music, the awesomess not kiddieness a genuine challenge thats not impossible the graphics took some adjusting as did the controlls but the amount of 'demons' with genuine, factual occult/mythical histories is freakin awesome!!!!! The imagination of these characters/'demons' boggles the mind! I like simple stuff like NO LOAD TIMES! From the in game menu i can easly load another file from the game without having to reset! How many times have you had to reset on an rpg just to wait through the whole opening and loading of a game?! Not with Nocturne! I couldnt beleive when Persona 3 came out and didnt have this feature or the no load times feature! It makes things so much easier. Just one of the many reasons this game is a true masterpiece!!!!! Another big let down with Persona of the many is the dungeons are so weak! Nocturnes exploring rules! Also in Persona when you summon a demon/persona, its voiceless!! Somebody cut out their vocal chords man! Did the cat get their tongues or what man? I love how in Nocturne each demon/character has their own vocal sounds that they make when they do an attack or use a spell etc. Its cool! Its just part of all the little stuff that adds up to the enormous depth of this game. I cant praise it enuf. It will never be topped. I will Keep hoping so. If you have read this far i am going to reward you with a hidden gameplay feature for nocturne. I may be the only person who has ever figured it out. Here it is. If you want to deliver some mega damage to some demon butt im talkin critical hits every time along with maximum double damage with those awesome random hit spells this tip also works great with the freikugel spell but mostly will work with Physical and anything you can get a critical hit with. sorry. tired. late. Basically it will maximize any and every attack. This does create a challenge but works great on bosses when every extra turn counts. OK this has to do with timing when you push the button to commit an attack or spell hold down the button. do not release it until... well getting the right timing varies depending on what demon and what attack you are using. the simplest way to execute this properly is to watch the movements of the demon/character and listen to their sound and the sound of the spell for a 'peak' at that exact moment if you release the button you inflict incredeble power/critcal hit/awesome! If you dont already know getting a critical hit gets you an extra turn. You will put those bosses in check! Practice that tip it will help and is awesome also part of the kiler depth of the game is unbelievable. NOCTURNE RULES!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR READING MY REVIEW! HAVE A NICE DAY!! OVER AND OUT!!!!!
