Video Game Reviews of SSX Tricky

Customer Review: Unrealistic
Summary: 1 Stars

This game is unrealistic. I think that pulling huge flips and spins that are 100% impossible in real life 1000 times in a row gets boring and repetitve after a while. Don't by this game, go get ESPN Winter X-Games Snowboarding 2002 instead of this piece of junk.

Customer Review: fun to play and watch
Summary: 5 Stars

For me, SSX Tricky is a rare game that is as much fun to watch a friend play as it is to actually play! The game involves holding various button combinations to pull off tricks in the game, from board grabs and flips to impossible spinning moves (detach feet from board, do a standing backflip, etc.) You can race or do a showoff mode, collecting points executing tricks. Unlock characters, boards, outfits, and courses by collecting medals and/or finished each character's trick book. One slightly annoying thing is finishing a trick book - several will require repeated attempts to get correct, and too many identical near misses (i.e. timing is just off and you keep doing another trick) results in the game taunting you ;)

Customer Review: Fast, Fun and Worth The Price
Summary: 4 Stars

I never owned the orginal SSX because I didn't buy my PS2 right away. When SSX Tricky came out I thought I'd give it a shot even if sports games weren't my thing. My wife thought I had wasted out money but it was a blast for months. I played non-stop for weeks and I still pick it up now and then since I've already unlocked everything. The tracks are big and so are the tricks you pull off. Two player mode is fun but it's kinda tough to see the players that well on split screen and still be able to see the area around your player. It's not a snowboarding game for those who want realism but it's for anybody that wants to fly high and have fun.

Customer Review: The most fun game of all time!
Summary: 5 Stars

Okay, maybe it isn't the most fun game of all time, but my sister sure thinks so. Interestingly, I bought Pikmin for one sister, Super Monkey Ball for another, SSX Tricky for me, and then I find that they completely stop playing those games when they give SSX Tricky one try. Even my dad, who almost never plays games loves this one. But what do I think of it? Well, the gameplay is pretty near perfect, the graphics ARE perfect, the control IS perfect, the learning curve is excellent, and the game is just plain cool. Sure, some people may be able to beat it quickly with one character, but the game is loads of fun, and DEFINITELY the best snowboarding game ever made.
