Video Game Reviews of .hack, Part 1: Infection

Customer Review: Review on Hack infection
Summary: 5 Stars

I think the gane is very good but its going to be hard to levelup.Plus you get a dvd as a bonus when the game/it's about a girl who played a game called the world and she must find out how she got out of a coma but her friend didn't get through the coma.

Customer Review: The start of a great game series.
Summary: 5 Stars

I will not spoil anything and will make this review short: The .hack games are great. You'll love it. After you've played this, play the others, because they rock as well.

Customer Review: Great start to a good story.
Summary: 5 Stars

It's a really good idea to try the anime's as well as the books, because they all have a intersecting story. This game takes a bit to grow on ya but the story draws you in and keeps you wanting to know more. Your characters can carry over into the next volume too when you finish with this one.

Customer Review: Tiny bit repetitive, but overall excellent
Summary: 4 Stars

This game is really well done, except for the repetive parts. I know that it is just the part that sets up the upcoming games, but it is a bit short. The graphics are excellent, one of the better ones I have played. I would recommend this game for any person who is familiar with the Manga/ other parts of .Hack, because this game sort of jumps directly into the plot, and it can be confusing it you have no history with .hack.

Graphics: 5
Plot/ Gameplay: 4
Difficulty:4
Funness: 4
Overall: 4.5

When you purchase this, you might as well buy all four parts becuse you can transfer your save game to the next part. Also, the plot gets better from part to part.

Customer Review: Waste of Money
Summary: 1 Stars

Now don't get me wrong, I love dotHack. I'm one of those kids who sits around in the bookstore reading the manga. So I thought even if the game wasn't so good, I could deal with it. Right? Uh. No.
I forced myself to play for about two hours. The graphics were insanely bad, the voice acting made me squirm, and the dungeons were just horrible. There were a couple of intriguing concepts in it, which could've been awesome if handled right - as it is, I think they ultimately take away from the game. For instance, the idea of picking words to shape a custom dungeon was really cool, but maybe if they hadn't done that they would've been able to spend more time on actually making the dungeons interesting and playable. Also, being a total Warcrack addict, I liked the idea of a simulated MMORPG, but after a while reading the stuff on the forums to get new words and hints and stuff just gets tedious.
