I've played it a couple of times and it is not that bad.

Vice city is absolutely gorgous, with blue skies, crystal clear waters, sports cars on every corner, it makes for tons of opportunity in this city.
Not to mention the radio stations. It is by far the best soundtrack of all three gta's. With included radio stations:

Ok, I know the game came out like 4 years ago, but I am just getting around to writing a review about it now because even after 4 years, its still so good. San Andreas is out now, but I like this game better because the campaighn is that good. Definatly one of the best campaighns out there. Tommy Vercetti is alot cooler than Carl Johnson. CJ really has alot to learn befor he is as bad*** as Tommy. The environment in VC is not nearly as big a SA, but the campaighn is way better. At first, the campaighn is pretty long, but then once you do it a second time around, you wip through it so fast its not funny. yet its still so satisfying. The soundtrack in VC is alot better than SA too because there is not 1 song in VC that I hate. But in SA, there is plenty that are so annoying, like creed. but it does have some Guns N Roses in it, ill give it that. But dude, just get this game if you dont already have it, you wont regret.Customer Review: Alot of fun!

This game is just pure FUN! You mainly kill, steal, drive, fly and just try to stay alive. There's just so much to do. The missions are interesting but at the same time well thought out. In this game the main character (Tommy Vercetti) is actually more funnier and smarter. You can also change his clothes, buy weapons, rob stores, race other people with fast and exotic cars and even eat pizza! The music is probably the best that I've ever heard in a videogame (that's if you're into to the music from the 80's). It's also a long game, so it'll keep you entertained for quite a while.
Overall, this game is just like GTA3 (a classic that started this game), except that there's even more to do. If you want fun, well, this is fun. Go out and buy this game today!

Wow, Vice City is a f**king awesome game, a huge improvement over the killer GTA3. I love all the refrences and similarities to Scarface and Carlito's Way. Any fan of those 2 movies will appreciate this game! A real classic right here!
