Different Gameplay Modes
Play as your favorite team, struggle through the grind of an entire season and try to win the World Series. Instead of shouting your managerial skills at the television, you can steal a base yourself, or pinch-hit with a lefty on your bench. It's all up to you.

In addition to playing a season as your favorite team, the PS2 version of the game also features a GM career mode, which allows you to control four franchises simultaneously. Appease your owners by acquiring players, making trades, and, hopefully, bringing home a World Series Championship.

Rosters Updated for the 2009 Season
The latest rosters are included in the game, so your favorite team will have all its 2009 players, just like in real life. The Inside Edge feature uses six years of scouting data to accurately mimic player tendencies. You'll notice your favorite players reacting to situations in the game just as they would in real life.

Play Online Against Players All Over the World
If you think you're the best, prove it: MLB 2K9 for PS2 lets you play online against players all over the world. Choose your favorite team, even the Pirates, and show that the only reason they haven't won lately is because you weren't at the helm.
